So, I'm working at Nestle as a Lab Tech. The Job is currently 24/7 and there's only three of us with the other two being nearish to retirement and with some severe problems at home (death, coping, loss of spouse, etc.) So I work 12 hrs on weekends so that every week one of them gets a break. Plus, really, what else am I go do except get in trouble? I'm living alone (for the first time ever now that I think about it), have a lot of energy and prone to violent thoughts against the gov't. Probably a good thing I'm working 60 to 84 hrs a week and taking a class on the side.
Which is where I am now, "studying" for a social psychology class at a university that exemplifies some of my major issues with the current problems with universities in general. Though, unlike DePauw, this one will definitely weather the coming economic shitstorm a bit better off than extinction.
That negativity aside, and the fact that I'm learning terms for a bullshit class made off of bullshitty extrapolations of extrapolations of experiments made 40 years ago, it's definitely nice to be in a demographic where you aren't 20 yrs younger than everyone else around you. And the attractiveness is up...
Let's be honest, people do not change much as they age save two generalities, they lose sex appeal and they lose energy. The general personalities are very much the same throughout. Wisdom with age my ass. Maybe once long ago when the cleverest survived to old age, I'd say the old tend to be wise, but now...not so much. I hear the same stupid shit out of both the retiring and the pupils.
Positive thinking: it makes a big difference, but for some of us to keep positive in certain situations is like taking the role of Sisyphus or Atlas. Combine the two, I'm pushing the world uphill...I like that. POSITIVE!
